Tempted by Cheesecake
I know it’s unfashionable in these calorie-counting times but I do love, no – adore – passionately and deeply crave – cheesecake! I love it from the bottom of my heart – which may explain why my bottom is this size to be honest! It may sound silly but I even remember the first time I ever ate it, perched as a five year old at my grandmother’s kitchen table on a high chair. My grandmother made the yummiest cheesecakes ever – a feat I sadly haven’t been able to replicate.
I’ve been trying to diet (trying is the key word here) but with the onset of the season, just think of the many places and dinners that I will go to where my temptation is so easily available … the mere thought of those melt-in-the-mouth morsels exuding the scent and taste of creamy cheese – and topped off with strawberries or blueberries (both perennial favorites of mine) has me already salivating away like Pavlov’s canines… what can I say … I guess I’ll just be following Oscar Wilde’s dictum that the easiest way to get rid of temptation is to give in to it!
